Supervisor Food & Clinical Services
Responsible for the on-site management of patient and/or staff foodservice and cafeteria, coffee cart and vending services contracts.
- Supervises Food and Clinical Nutrition Services personnel including , Nutrition Partners and Registered Dietitians to include performance evaluation and competencies and scheduling oversight.
- Provide input as well as support departments budget process and financial goals. Direct and conduct quality assurance audits.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Supervise personnel engaged in the daily preparation and service of patient and/or staff meals.
- Conduct inspections/audits of food service contracts to ensure high quality food and service performance standards are met.
- Supervises food,clinical nutrition and room service operations.
- Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner and according to established standards.
- Participates in menu and recipe development including food and product evaluation as requested
- Supervises sanitation and HACCP on a day to day basis.
- Participates in policy and procedure development, and implementation for the food and clinical nutrition program.
- Conducts quality assurance and performance improvement program of food and clinical nutrition program to ensure local, state and federal regulation compliance.
- Evaluates and verifies food and clinical nutrition employee performance and competency.
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Supervises clinical nutrition care program.
- Provides input and oversight of clinical nutrition and food service budgets.
- Supervises procurement of food and items necessary for day to day operation.
- Supervises disaster plan in accordance to the Disaster/Emergency Plan.
- Oversees enteral formulary.
- Conducts food contract audits.
- Kaiser Permanente conducts compensation reviews of positions on a routine basis. At any time, Kaiser Permanente reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions, or to change such positions from salaried to hourly pay status. Such changes are generally implemented only after notice is given to affected employees.
- Minimum two (2) years of food service supervisory experience (preferably in the healthcare field), or qualifying experience in a healthcare setting, supervisory/management position required.
- Bachelors degree in food and/or nutrition science OR
- Associates degree in food and/or nutrition science.
- Commission on Dietetic Registration
- National Provider Identifier required at hire
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
