Job Summary:

Develops, implements, supervises, and evaluates financial and patient care support activities of assigned departments. Represents Kaiser Permanente in community. Assists in Health Plan activities. Provides member/patient services. Assists in implementation of specific programs to increase membership and enhance fee-for-service revenue.  Maintains open communications with Oahu and / or Neighbor Island counterparts and staff. Recommends and implements changes to continually enhance Quality-of-Service Program. Coordinates administrative assistance to physicians and supervisors. Supervises assigned staff.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Collaborates with Senior Director, Clinic Chief and area leadership to ensure high-quality and efficient non- clinical services.

  • Provides leadership in assessing call center, customer needs and satisfaction levels. Assists with leading and facilitating continuous improvements to ensure customer service and efficiency.

  • Designs, develops and implements plans/projects to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness and quality of care. Monitors and reports status and progress to supervisor.

  • Designs, develops programs supporting recruitment, retention and development of staff who consistently deliver high-quality services at lowest total cost. Fosters positive environment for staff growth, development and teamwork.

  • Delegates responsibility to appropriate staff. Coaches and developing staff according to strengths. Creates opportunities for improvement in areas of weakness. Assists in creating structure that will empower staff and promote self-directed work groups.

  • Provides cost-effective functioning of operations at each facility. Applies sound fiscal management practice and efficient organization/utilization of staff and material resources. Ensures continuous cost structure improvements.

  • Ensures provision of safe, attractive patient care facilities which satisfy needs of customers and staff. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Participates in planning process for facilities maintenance and development.

  • Establishes effective collaborative relationship with regional departments to support decisions beneficial to facility and valuable to customers. Assists in facilitating collaborative approach toward improvement and problem resolution.

  • Assists in facilitating cross-functional activities to improve total performance.

  • Serves on regional committees, task forces and teams as assigned.

  • Hires, trains, supervises, counsels, disciplines, and terminates assigned staff as appropriate.

  • Communicates goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff.
