This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working from the following location: 7300 N Fresno Sr, Fresno, CA 9370.
Department Details:
The Revenue Cycle encompasses all processes that move a patient account from intake to cash, ensuring accurate documentation, timely billing, and compliance across the care continuum. It integrates three core domains:
Front End (Patient Access): Registration, financial counseling, insurance verification, and point-of-service collections to enable clean claims and a positive patient financial experience.
Middle Cycle (HIM, Coding, CDI, Charge Capture): Clinical documentation integrity, coding accuracy, and charge governance to support compliant, optimized reimbursement.
Back End (Patient Financial Services): Billing, payment posting, payer follow-up, denials management, and patient collections to accelerate cash and reduce avoidable write-offs.
Revenue Cycle team members are required to build strong collaboration with clinical, operational, and financial partners to deliver a seamless revenue cycle that supports organizational sustainability and patient trust.
Internship Projects:
The intern role will partner directly with the Market Executive to perform an analysis of collections, charges, and various other Key Performance Indicators at the Market and Service Area level. In an ideal state the project will be composed of three parts: KPI overview, Analysis, and Presentation development. The Intern will partner with the Market Leader to present findings to key stakeholders in the Market.

Target Skillset:
Data Analysis & Interpretation: Ability to collect, research, and analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
Proficiency in Tools: Experience with Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and data management.
Communication: Ability to communicate and share status throughout the project. Intern should feel comfortable asking questions for learning and development.

- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- 3.0 GPA or above.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and experience producing high quality work in short periods of time.
