Job Summary:

Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by attending meetings to remain up-to-date on developments, researching solutions and responses to key issues, and assisting in communicating positioning. Establishes and maintains relationships with key external stakeholders to promote and advocate for KP as directed.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supports the completion of priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Identifies and speaks up for ways to address improvement opportunities.

  • Promotes KPs interests by: learning about establishing and maintaining effective relationships with elected and appointed officials, policymakers, trade associations, and other groups; documenting and distributing communications with key external stakeholders on KP; participating in conversations with strategic partners to persuade them to take positions consistent with KP as directed; and providing support to others who represent KP.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by: attending meetings with key internal stakeholders and senior leadership on developments in legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, key personnel changes, national/state/local issues; assisting in researching approaches and solutions to key issues as directed; recording and documenting planning efforts and response to proposed legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, national/state/local issues; and assisting in preparing communications of positioning for internal audiences following clear guidance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND Minimum one (1) year of professional experience (includes internship and unpaid work experience) OR Minimum four (4) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.
