Job Summary:

Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by advising key stakeholders on developments, researching solutions and leading responses to key issues, and communicating positioning. Establishes and maintains relationships with key external stakeholders to promote and advocate for KP with minimal guidance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promotes learning in others by proactively providing and/or developing information, resources, advice, and expertise with coworkers and members; builds relationships with cross-functional/external stakeholders and customers.   • Promotes KPs interests by: establishing and maintaining effective relationships with elected and appointed officials, policymakers, trade associations, and other groups with minimal supervision; communicating with and influencing key external stakeholders on KP as directed; leveraging relations with strategic partners to persuade them to take positions consistent with KP with minimal supervision; and representing KP following minimal guidance.

  • Partners with internal stakeholders on government relations by: advising key internal stakeholders and senior leadership on developments in legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, key personnel changes, national/state/local issues with general guidance; independently researching approaches and solutions to key issues; leading planning efforts and response to proposed legislation, regulations, legal proposals, public policy, national/state/local issues with general guidance; and providing recommendations and communicating positioning to internal audiences as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university AND Minimum five (5) years of professional experience (includes internship and unpaid work experience) OR Minimum eight (8) years of experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations at the local, state, or federal level, health policy, communications, public affairs, or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience with healthcare lobbying or policy
