Kaiser Permanente Thriving Schools is a national effort dedicated to improving the health of students, staff, and teachers in K-12 schools through a focus on healthy eating, active living, school employee wellness, and positive school climate. Thriving Schools provides a full spectrum of resources to help kids and adults live well and thrive at school while also addressing health disparities in vulnerable communities.

Through partnerships with other national and local organizations working in school health, we're supporting targeted health efforts in more than 120 school districts serving large numbers of low-income students. Our Thriving Schools initiative also supports nonprofit organizations that offer preventive care, provide support after trauma, and manage chronic diseases such as asthma, obesity, and diabetes through school-based health care.

“[Thriving Schools] is about creating healthy people, creating healthy environments, and sharing our health knowledge. And at the end of the day, that's why we're here.”

– Maritha Gay, Executive Director, Community Benefit and External Affairs
