Job Summary:

The Department of Health Systems Science (HSS) Academic Content Coordinator works closely with HSS faculty to support the departments curricular and program objectives. The Academic Content Coordinator applies knowledge of HSS topics and domains, including quality and safety, healthcare and social systems, community and population health, inquiry, and health information technology to perform a wide range of high-level administrative tasks and project facilitation. The Academic Content Coordinator is responsible for creating, evaluating, and revising a variety of content materials, as well as identifying content gaps and making recommendations for the development of new content.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Assists HSS faculty in ensuring the day-to-day and long-term content strategy for the departments courses and programs by tracking and monitoring specialized content at a highly detailed level (e.g., curricular threads, departmental course- and session level objectives) and making recommendations to clarify, develop, and/or standardize content.

  • Organizes and helps facilitate HSS meetings related to courses and/or programs by coordinating scheduling, managing the agenda, documenting action items, and following up with faculty regarding the completion of their action items.

  • Creates planning materials to support HSS course preparation and program development.

  • Responds to complex information requests from external departments or organizations by collecting information, drafting responses, and circulating materials for review.

  • Assists the faculty in preparing and submitting course- and program-related content, conference presentations, and other materials.

  • Applies knowledge of department to create, develop, and/or update content for websites and/or social media.

  • Documents course-related best practices for HSS, including pedagogy.

  • Conducts background work to assist the faculty with course and program development, including literature reviews and bibliographies.

  • Supports department events and performs other duties as assigned.

Experience


  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant professional experience in higher education, health care, non-profit, or related field.

  • Bachelors degree required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to track details within and across a wide range of different materials.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency creating and editing content in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience developing content in a collaborative online environment-especially Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in health care, health care systems, population or community health care wellness issues.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience editing images in Photoshop and creating content in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Masters degree in a health systems science-related field.
