Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for facilitating projects under minimal supervision with general instructions on routine work and new assignments, contributes to architectural designs requiring knowledge and application of architectural principles and concepts; performs routine design tasks Including functional programs, space programs, room templates (may include preparing construction drawings on Revit, CADD); follows space allocation rules and specifications while coordinating with hospital/medical facilities users; writes performance specifications for building materials, installation criteria, the quality of finishes, and other related details; performs research on building codes and materials; and assists in the design of one part of a project, or on a small project.

  • Completes work assignments autonomously by applying up-to-date expertise in subject area to generate creative solutions; ensures all procedures and policies are followed; leverages an understanding of data and resources to support projects or initiatives. Collaborates cross-functionally to solve business problems; escalates issues or risks as appropriate; communicates progress and information. Supports, identifies, and monitors priorities, deadlines, and expectations. Identifies, speaks up, and implements ways to address improvement opportunities for team.

  • Facilitates planning and design projects by: using judgment and discretion to interpret guidelines to assist with the resolution of non-standard problems. communicating between the project team and others inside and outside of the organization; and developing training materials for the team or consultants on strategies and concepts, coordination, and management of the support teams area of expertise.
  • Supports NFS program deliverables by: working on components of National Facilities Services (NFS) initiatives and projects from initiation through design phase with close oversight from senior management; developing, analyzing, and executing project plans which include scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast; monitoring project performance (e.g., on time, within scope, and with quality) against plans and provides input and justification for costs and budget impact; managing project activities related to organizational change management (e.g., development and execution of user adoption, implementation, and training plans) as defined by the project; and allocating resources, establishes schedules, and makes task assignments.
  • Contributes to consultants relationship management by: providing technical support and coordination to designers/drafters/engineers and architects/planners/engineers; and obtaining and applying comprehensive research knowledge on building codes and materials from vendor.
  • Acts in compliance with KP requirements by: developing a full working knowledge of the enterprise facilities design standards development to ensure quality solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, etc.), Planning (e.g., Space Planning), Interior Design, Construction Management, Cost Estimating, or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in planning, architectural, design, engineering, CADD, hospital/medical facility, healthcare planning, construction estimating, or a directly related field OR Minimum six (6) years of experience in planning, architectural, design, engineering, CADD, hospital/medical facility, health and safety administration/management, construction estimating, or a directly related field.
