Description:

Salary Range:  $44.33/hour - $53.85/hour


Job Summary:

Manages and coordinates the activities of assigned radiology supervisors and managers in assigned clinics and/or specialty areas. Manages and coordinates activities of radiologic technologists, diagnostic medical sonographers and clerical personnel at assigned clinics. Provides accurate diagnostic data for interpretation by the radiologist and use by medical provider in providing patient care. Prepares and manages department budgets, ensures efficient and coordinated staffing flow among clinics or specialty areas, and ensures purchase of radiology equipment is cost-effective and meets quality standards.



Essential Responsibilities:


  • This position knows and complies with all Kaiser Permanente quality, safety, and emergency policies and procedures. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice in every interaction with patients, colleagues, providers, and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the preparation and provisioning of care related to but not limited to medications, procedures, infection prevention, fall prevention, including consistent use of two patient identifiers and procedural time outs. Reports safety hazards, accidents and incidents, and unsafe working conditions promptly.

  • Manages staffing through reporting supervisors at various outpatient clinics and radiology specialty groups.

  • Prepares, oversees and executes budget for assigned departments/facilities.

  • Researches, evaluates, and authorizes purchase of capital equipment and supplies for assigned radiology clinics.

  • Oversees implementation of policies, procedures, and quality standards.

  • Fosters effective partnerships with physicians in coordination with CPMG.

  • Fosters positive relationships with labor partners.

  • Interviews, selects, orients, evaluates, and disciplines reporting supervisors or radiology staff in compliance with EEO/AA goals and personnel policies of the organization.

  • Compiles statistical data provided by reporting supervisors and prepares reports related to operating costs and services rendered.

  • Ensures reporting clinics/specialty groups maintain standards of quality assurance and patient service.

  • Maintains current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.

  • Provides follow-up to any QA problem encountered. Follows-up on customer service issues for resolution/recovery, most often including direct involvement with members.

  • Monitors radiology customer service from a global perspective, e.g., service delivery model.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that includes a combination of radiologic technologist and lead or supervisory experience.


Education


  • Bachelor degree in health care administration, business management or related field required OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.


License, Certification, Registration


  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists OR Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers


Additional Requirements:


  • Completion of an approved training program in radiologic technology.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage modalities (i.e. radiology, mammography, diagnostic medical sonographers and reception/clerical personnel.

  • General knowledge of radiologic theory and practice, including radiation safety and applicable standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and enhance department efficiencies.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that includes a combination of radiologic technologist and lead or supervisory experience in an outpatient clinic preferred.
