Description:
Job Summary:

To provide diagnostic services in a hospital and/or clinical setting, to include clerical duties as required. To perform all duties in a manner which promotes team concepts and reflects the KPNW Mission and philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Performing diagnostic procedures, using knowledge, skills and abilities required for age of patient served to include: Routine, emergent, portable, surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.

  • Communication with Cardiologist.

  • Assist patient/transport.

  • Data Entry. File work. Restocking supplies/cleaning. Quality Assurance functions. Other duties as assigned.

  • Variable - Participates in on-call or standby schedule as required.
Basic Qualifications:

Experience


  • N/A


Education


  • A minimum two (2) year AMA approved program and successful completion of one year Ultrasound training and certification, OR

  • Two (2) years Allied Health and successful completion and certification of two (2) year ARDMS program, OR

  • Successful completion of an AMA accredited Ultrasound program, ARDMS registered or CardioVascular Credentialing International (CCI) (new grads within one (1) year of hire for registration).

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.


License, Certification, Registration


  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certificate within 12 months of hire from Cardiovascular Credentialing International OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate within 12 months of hire from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers



  • Sonography Technologist License (Oregon)



  • Basic Life Support within 1 months of hire


Additional Requirements:


  • Completion of a formal training program.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience with TEE, Stress Echo and Pediatric Echosonography.

  • Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning; attention to detail; problem solving, decision making, judgment; technical skills; initiative; communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, organizational relations.

  • Adaptability; following Policies and Procedures; flexibility.

  • Able to work unsupervised and perform exams independently and confidently.
