Description:
Job Summary:

Uses various resources to scope, draft, design, and implement complex market research projects in alignment with business strategies. Facilitates research and data analysis by assuming responsibility for primary and secondary data collection, constructing and managing highly complex datasets, performing complex quantitative and qualitative analyses, and proactively cultivating vendor relationships. Communicates findings by providing tailored recommendations, generating reports and presentations from several sources, and presenting findings persuasively through storytelling to influence decision-makers. Collaborates with senior management to develop and refine research priorities and strategies, acts as a thought partner to inform business questions, and fosters stakeholder relationships to understand their complex business needs. Supports knowledge management efforts by identifying new methodologies, testing their usage, and leading knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds relationships with cross-functional stakeholders. Listens, responds to, seeks, and addresses performance feedback; provides actionable feedback to others, including upward feedback to leadership and mentors junior team members. Practices self-leadership; creates and executes plans to capitalize on strengths and improve opportunity areas; influences team members within assigned team or unit. Adapts to competing demands and new responsibilities; adapts to and learns from change, challenges, and feedback. Models team collaboration within and across teams.

  • Conducts or oversees business-specific projects by applying deep expertise in subject area; promotes adherence to all procedures and policies. Partners internally and externally to make effective business decisions; determines and carries out processes and methodologies; solves complex problems; escalates high-priority issues or risks, as appropriate; monitors progress and results. Develops work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; coordinates and delegates resources to accomplish organizational goals. Recognizes and capitalizes on improvement opportunities; evaluates recommendations made; influences the completion of project tasks by others.

  • Communicates market research findings by: providing tailored recommendations and solutions based on business needs and synthesized from multiple sources (market findings, advanced knowledge of current health care research trends, etc.); tailoring reports and presentations from several sources to an acceptable level for diverse and target audiences and tying to larger market trends; and communicating and presenting findings persuasively through compelling storytelling and market insights to influence decision-makers.

  • Supports the development of knowledge by: identifying new research methodologies and developing new projects that test the new methodologies; and overseeing tasks for knowledge-sharing platforms, identifying gaps in knowledge, understanding when knowledge is obsolete, leading external knowledge sharing (conferences, trainings, etc.) and championing this information so it is accessible to others.

  • Develops market research projects by: using various resources to estimate and evaluate the size, scope, costs, and priority of complex research projects and identifying cross-functional synergies, business line and research knowledge gaps, or ties to other strategic initiatives; and designing and implementing methodology and analysis plans to test hypotheses in line with business strategies for multiple diverse stakeholders.

  • Facilitates market research by: proactively cultivating vendor relationships, gaining a deeper understanding of options available, and developing criteria for vendor selection; assuming responsibility for primary and secondary data collection with internal teams and vendors, and identifying and setting standards of best practices to ensure quality data and improvement of response rates; constructing and managing highly complex datasets to develop analytical frameworks required for analyzing complex market and competitor trends; and performing complex quantitative and qualitative analyses and identifying alternative hypotheses with advanced knowledge in one or more specialty areas of data analysis and in line with business partner needs.

  • Manages stakeholder relationships by: collaborating with senior management to develop and refine key research priorities and strategies and acting as a thought partner in providing insights to inform business questions; and fostering trusting relationships with stakeholders to understand and monitor the business environment and their complex business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Market Research, Marketing, Mathematics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Statistics, or related field AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in business operations, market research, market analysis, research, or a directly related field OR minimum eleven (11) years of experience in business operations, market research, market analysis, research, or a directly related field.
