This internship role is scheduled to be flexible. Please be prepared to spend part of your time working remotely and part of your time working at the following address: 4460 Hacienda Dr, Pleasanton, CA 94588



Department Description:


Innovation and AI. We are developing the hospital intelligence platform which will provide insights to our hospital leaders.



Target Majors:


Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or Bio Informatics


Responsibilities:


Work with the data science team to develop and implement machine learning models for a variety of applications, including time series,  natural language processing and generation.


Assist in the development and maintenance of Python codebases for data analysis, simulation, and optimization.
Collaborate with the data science team to design and implement experiments using SQL and API's to collect and analyze data.
Develop and maintain documentation of methods and results, including creation of visualizations and reports.
Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to discussions on ongoing projects and research directions.
Collaborate with other teams and departments.


Technical Skills:
Experience with data preprocessing, cleaning, and manipulation techniques.
Ability to work with large datasets using tools like Pandas or NumPy.
Expertise in machine learning techniques including regression, classification, timeseries, and ensemble methods.
Proficiency in Python and SQL languages and experience on containerization tools like Docker.
Experience with version control systems like Git.


Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
Ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable insights.
Understanding of data mining techniques and feature engineering.
