Description:
Job Summary:

Working in conjunction with radiology leadership (Radiology Chief and Director) and under guidance of a PACS Administrator III, provides operations management of imaging of informatics platforms to meet local facility operational objectives. Responsible for systems data management and integrity of Radiology PACS systems including worklist management, data reconciliation, monitoring performance of PACS components to support 24/7 Radiology operations. Responsible for systems support, training and integration of PACS related initiatives across the service area.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the planning, installation, testing and operational support of digital imaging (PACS) and ancillary systems, including operating systems, networking, software, and system administration to support the radiology department.

  • Coordinates and participates in after hour call to provide technical support.

  • Provides guidance and support for subordinate staff as needed.

  • Supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) standard relating to systems operations.

  • Knowledge of HL7 standard in exchange, integration sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information especially as it relates to patient registration and reporting in a PACS environment.

  • Must possess ability to analyze and monitor system performance and make proactive recommendations for improving systems performance and stability.

  • Provides guidance and direction in supporting other PACS administrators as needed.

  • Participates in incident and problem management processes. Coordinates prevention plans and addresses escalations as appropriate.

  • Acts as a liaison between radiology departments and outside customers relating to medical imaging initiatives.

  • Responsible for providing technology planning and implementation assistance for related projects.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum three (3) years of working with healthcare and related platforms

Education

  • Associates degree.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Imaging Informatics Professionals Certificate within 12 months of hire
Additional Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communicaitons skills.
  • Experience in conducting training, implementation and troubleshooting of imaging informatics products (software and hardware).
  • Knowledge of federal state and local regulations that pertain to records retention, confidentiality and the release of medical records. (i.e. HIPAA)
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specific clinical imaging license\certifications (e.g. ASRT, ARDMS, ARRT)
  • Voice Recognition software and hardware experience preferred.
  • Additional Imaging certificates preferred such as (PACS Administrators Registry and Certification (PARCA), Clinical Research Associate (CRA)
  • Preferred experience in administrative operations within a healthcare environment.
  • Bachelors degree in healthcare related discipline or technical specialty (i.e. informatics, information technology)
