Under the direction and supervision of staff Thoracic surgeon, the PA provides high quality cost-effective patient care by performing General Thoracic Surgery support to our surgeons with Robotics and a Full Scope of Thoracic Oncology Services.
- Standby required after hours and rotational weekend coverage as needed
- Schedule may vary to meet operational needs.
- Licensed by State of California as a physician assistant.
- Current BLS certification.
- Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date
- Experience as a Physician assistant within surgical subspecialties
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Senior Physician Assistant:
- Minimum three (3) years previous experience in the last five (5) years as a physician assistant.
Physician Assistant:
- No Experience Required
- Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date
- NCCPA certified at time of hire and maintained throughout career at Kaiser Permanente.
- California State Physician Assistant License, issued by Physician Assistant Board under Medical Board of California by date of hire.
- BLS certification required.
- Must have a Nat'l Provider Identifier (NPI), or obtain an NPI, prior to employment start date and meet current Medicare requirements for billing.
- Fluoroscopy Permit required, or must be obtained within 18 months from the date of hire in Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and Radiation Oncology only.
- May be required to have experience and competency in performing specific tasks required by department.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
- First Assist in OR and Robotics First Assist preferred
Secondary Functions:
- Schedule may vary to meet operational needs.
