Description:
Job Summary:

In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is also responsible for contributing to the strategy of as well as managing teams to develop health education materials and providing training on health education and new concepts, processes, and programs related to health behavior change in the health education departments to new and current health education employees; managing teams to document the success and comprehension of a wide variety of training materials while maintaining updates of central training repository; manage teams to teach health behavior change practices, policies, and procedures for new and existing senior staff; creating and organizing the learning objectives, course outlines, assessments, training plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, handouts, review activities and audio-visual aids for all health education workshops; and manage teams to collaborate with subject matter experts and other senior leaders to develop health education materials for various delivery mediums, including, but not limited to print, digital, web, video, electronic medical record visit summary formats, and individual counseling guides.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Creates and advocates for developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships.

  • Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works with leaders and employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. 

  • Pursues professional growth; hires, trains, and develops talent for growth opportunities; strategically evaluates talent for succession planning; sets performance management guidelines and expectations across teams / units.

  •  Oversees implementation, adapts, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices, processes, and industry trends; shares best practices within and across teams.

  • Fosters open dialogue amongst team members, engages, motivates, and promotes collaboration within and across teams; motivates teams to meet business objectives. 

  • Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance and scope; encourages development and consideration of options in decision making; fosters access to stakeholders.

  • Manages designated units or teams by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed; partners with key stakeholders and business leaders to ensure products and/or services meet requirements and expectations while aligning with departmental strategies.

  • Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; assumes responsibility for decision making; fosters direct reports to resolve escalated issues as appropriate. 

  • Communicates goals and objectives; incorporates resources, costs, and forecasts into team and unit plans; ensures matrixed resources are fulfilling service or performance requirements across reporting lines.

  • Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences teams and units to operate in alignment with operational and business objectives.

  • Manages the design and development of trainings by: overseeing the creation and implementation of up-to-date highly complex content (e.g., course curricula, training aids, and other supporting materials), ensuring curriculum accuracy, leading troubleshooting as needed, and guiding; facilitating the creation of training methods (e.g., e-learning, in-person, classroom, on-site, just-in-time support, web sessions, blended learning, and conference calls) and developing programs; establishing training objectives for education modules, authoring and overseeing the revision of training modules and supporting materials; overseeing the prioritization of long-term learning goals and ensuring objectives are in alignment with strategic and future-driven business unit(s) learning goals; and guiding the implementation process of alternative training techniques, procedures, and/or methods while providing recommendations to improve programs.

  • Assesses programs training needs by: evaluating the conduction of highly complex and more in-depth needs assessments for individuals and groups.

  • Oversees process improvement of trainings by: managing creation of processes, methodologies, and performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of programs to continuously improve organizational performance and other relevant organizational outcomes.

  • Oversees completion of projects by: overseeing development and execution of highly complex program plans, including scope identification and management, schedule, inter-dependencies, and resource forecast.

  • Drives the refinement of training and delivery by: promoting the implementation of research of training norms and industry standards within multiple assigned area(s); and leading the application of learning trends and research within training/education programs to improve learner experience and improved outcomes.

  • Leads effective training delivery by: overseeing the training delivery of programs (e.g., orientation, and customer service, supervisory skills); monitoring trainers facilitation of adult learning principles collaborating with senior leaders and approve processes to improve training delivery; proactively monitoring and ensuring trainers are evaluating skills, knowledge, and training objectives; presenting gathered feedback and providing solutions to senior leaders to improve learners training results; and overseeing managers and or trainers by guiding them on how to improve training delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Minimum one (1) year of experience managing operational or project budgets.

  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

  • Bachelors Degree in Education, Management, Organizational Development, Behavioral Science, or a directly related field AND minimum eight (8) years of experience in training delivery, curriculum design, and training development and evaluation, or a directly related field, OR Minimum eleven (11) years of experience in training delivery, curriculum design, training development and evaluation, or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Public Health (MPH).
  • RN preferred or recent clinical background 
  • Five (5) years of experience developing community health education materials, programs, implementing prevention interventions and evaluation, and/or trainings.
