Job Summary:

This position enables regional leadership to develop, plan, drive and implement our Medi-Care strategy for SCAL in alignment with the organization-s mission strategic business plan and related performance expectations.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for Medicare and resource intensive members across the region to improve quality and service and ensure appropriate utilization. Develop and implement a comprehensive Medicare and resource intensive member strategy and plan that meets or exceeds identified targets and organizational goals.
  • Partner and develop strong collaborative relationships with SCPMG and Program Office to develop the Medicare strategy and initiatives and ensure successful implementation of the regional SCAL strategy.
  • Lead/Manage a multidisciplinary team/s across SCAL to implement the Medi-Care strategy.
  • Establish strategy consistent with empirically proven programs, a thorough understanding of the drivers and the success factors of leading health care organizations.
  • Monitor and access external environment and internal trends and practices. Adopt and implement market leading practices where applicable. Recommend changes to operations to meet the changing business and market conditions.
  • Partner across functional and entity regional leaders to ensure Meare initiatives are aligned with other key regional initiatives and program wide initiatives and strategies.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience

  • Minimum ten (10) years extensive experience in the health care industry, preferably in a multi-faceted health care system and multi-service provider setting.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of Leadership management experience in the health care industry. 
Education

  • Master-s degree or equivalent experience in business administration, health care administration, public health, or related fields required OR six (6) years of experience in a directly related required.
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal/communication skills. Strong presentation, leadership, project implementation and consultative and problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to lead and manage through influence and change. Demonstrate ability to lead professionally through influence and collaboration.
  • Understanding of and experience in process improvement and the tools and data requirements for supporting an effective process improvement practice.
  • Must exhibit efficiency, collaboration, candor, openness and results orientation. Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills required.
  • Possess an open collaborative leadership style that promotes teamwork and partnership while achieving desired results.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership management experience in the healthcare industry preferably in a multi-faceted health care system and multi-service provider setting.
  • Decisiveness, action-orientation, personal integrity, capability to navigate in complex situations and a focus on strategic leadership issues highly desired.
  • Demonstrated understanding of health policy trends and any applicable regulations. Understanding of the operations of KP preferred.
  • Balance of strategy and operational experience preferred.
  • Clinical health care operations background preferred.
